Cape Cheese Products (Pty) Ltd was established in 1988 by its sole owner Robert Bader, a South African national of Swiss origin. Coming from Switzerland he brought with him a rich knowledge and expertise in the manufacturing of various types of processed cheese. It is a known fact amongst cheese makers in South Africa that Robert Bader is recognised as one of the most qualified cheese makers in this country.
Machinery was imported from countries such as America and Germany. We then started with the production of processed cheese blocks, and cheese sausages, in a rented warehouse which had to be converted into a factory plant, suitable for the manufacturing of the various types of cheeses. The staff compliment at that time was 6 employees.
We were approached by some of the other cheese manufacturers to pack their products and this resulted in more employment.
Our product ranges expanded with the manufacturing of processed cheese spreads and processed cheese slices by which time we needed an additional melting pot which was imported from Poland and an automatic slicing machine manufactured here in South Africa, to which we add proudly South African.
Cape Cheese Products flourished and grew from strength to strength resulting in the need of more spacious premises. In March 2004 we relocated to brand new air-conditioned premises where the staff compliment now stands at 25 employees.
